Connect ChatGPT to Bible MCP Server
Install the plugin from the ChatGPT directory and sign in once. Developer mode connectors and GPT Actions remain available for custom setups.
Option 1
RecommendedInstall the plugin
The fastest path. One OAuth sign-in, no API keys, and the onboarding skill verifies the tools for you.
- Open ChatGPT, go to Plugins, and search for Bible MCP Server.
- Choose Install. ChatGPT redirects to
https://biblemcpserver.com/oauth/authorize. Sign in with your Emet account or create one; new accounts receive 100 free credits. - Return to ChatGPT, start a new conversation, and run the onboarding skill or paste the prompt below.
Check whether the Bible MCP Server tools are available in this chat. If they are, call list_translations and summarize the translations in one short list. If they are not, tell me to open Plugins, install Bible MCP Server, and sign in, then start a new chat. The directory listing appears after OpenAI approves the plugin. Until then, use the custom connector below with the same MCP URL.
Option 2
Add a custom connector
Works today for accounts with Developer mode. Uses the same OAuth sign-in as the plugin.
- In ChatGPT settings, enable Developer mode, then open Connectors and add a custom connector.
- Enter
https://mcp.biblemcpserver.com/mcpas the remote MCP server URL. Leave authentication on OAuth. - Approve access when ChatGPT opens the Bible MCP sign-in page, then enable the connector in a new chat.

Option 3
Build a custom GPT with Actions
For GPT builders who prefer an OpenAPI import and a server-side API key.
- Create an API key on your account page.
- In the GPT builder, add an Action and import
https://mcp.biblemcpserver.com/openapi.json. - Set authentication to API key, Bearer, and paste the key. Never share the key in chat.
